Fondazione De Rigo H.E.ART Onlus supports the ‘We provide a future’ project for children in the Ivory Coast

2022

The right to study and education of boys and girls in the countries of the so-called Third World is essential to ensure that they benefit from a brighter future.

With this is mind, Fondazione De Rigo H.E.ART Onlus has decided to support the ‘We provide a future’ project led by the CEY Foundation (Centre Educatif Yablassou), in cooperation with the Diocese of Belluno-Feltre Missionary Office, for the renovation of an infant school in Béoumi in the Ivory Coast.

Béoumi is located in the Gbêkê region and is the capital of the department of the same name, in the central part of the country. Due to the civil war, and now also the epidemiological emergency caused by Covid-19, the school building has become dilapidated and the young students no longer have an adequate place to attend classes. The restructuring of the infant school - in collaboration with the current missionary and collaborators from the CEY Foundation on site - has therefore become essential for the revival, in that area of savannah, of an educational pathway that involves more than 40 children from ages 3 and up. Children who will finally have a place to play and learn, have fun, imagine what they will be like as adults and learn the basics to be the protagonists of a better world.

The CEY Foundation, managed by Fr Ezio Del Favero and Celia Solagna - in cooperation with the Diocese of Belluno-Feltre Missionary Office - is responsible for supporting the development and educational projects of missionaries and humanitarian workers in Third World countries, so as to ensure that the children benefit from a training programme intended to provide them with better life prospects. In addition to Béoumi, the Fondazione is also involved in the more inland village of Yablassou, where it has launched a series of projects for children, including collective distance support and targeted educational facilities. Initiatives that should also extend to other African countries and beyond.
